Oklahoma Community Mourns After Missing State Senate Candidate Found Dead
An Oklahoma community is grappling with grief and unanswered questions after the body of Barry Christian, a 54-year-old Republican candidate for the state Senate, was found inside his pickup truck days after he was reported missing.
Christian, who was running to represent District 38, disappeared earlier this week after failing to attend a scheduled meeting. According to the Harmon County Sheriff’s Office, he was last seen driving his gray Ram truck on Tuesday. Two days later, authorities discovered the truck near Highway 30 in a rural area close to the Sandy Sanders Wildlife Management Area. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation confirmed that a body was located inside the vehicle.
